History
Hope Focus Ministries is a registered non-profit Christian organization located in Bugiri town council 160 kilometers in the eastern region of the country of Uganda from Kampala the capital. The organization was founded in 2003 by Rev. Geoffrey and Mrs. Sarah Mayimba who are citizens of Uganda. During that time Rev. Geoffrey Mayimba was attending Truett Theological Seminary- Baylor University in Waco, Texas. The couple shared the vision with other four men in Uganda so that they envision the suffering of humanity in the context of Jesus' mission. The group was convinced that hope is realized in deliverance and healing act of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They understood that when humanity suffers God suffers too. They were motivated by Christ' love and hope to proclaim the Gospel of deliverance to all humanity.
In summer 2004 the group of eight students from Baylor University Waco, Texas went on mission trip to Uganda under leadership of Rev. Mayimba. For two weeks they worked with Churches and schools in Jinja, Mukono and Mayuge Districts to the extent of greater awareness of empowering and inspiring the native Christian community and leaders in Uganda to reach out to the needy in villages, schools and urban slums for Christ.
312 souls were led to Christ as a result of that mission effort. It is from that humble beginning the Hope Focus Ministries was formed and continues sensitizing the Christian community to relate to the problem people face in the world's poorest countries by giving them facts so that they do the right thing to help and challenge the Church not to ignore her role toward the poor.
In 2006 Hope Focus Ministries was officially charted as a company and non-profit Christian organization to carry out it duties. This is a big achievement for the organization. However, we still have many challenges ahead of us.
